Sales Trainee / Apprentice

We integrate our CNCs with machine tools and sell the finished products as turnkey systems under the respected brand names of TRAK and ProtoTRAK. Our market concentration is on toolrooms and engineering R&D applications. We sell directly to users in much of the United States, with distributor sales in other parts of North America and Europe. The plant is located in the Los Angeles, CA area and we have direct employees all over the United States.

We offer two career paths for Industrial Technology Sales:

Field Sales Representative
This is for individuals who have some related job experience in manufacturing technology and value-added sales. The Field Sales Representative works out of his home and serves the customers in his territory by driving to their places of business. He is supported by a local Regional Manager as well as by Field Service Technicians who call on the same shops in order to perform service and installations.

Specific functions include, but are not limited to:
- Finding new prospective customers.
- Demonstrating the products.
- Job studies and cost justifications.
- Organizing and communicating the details of customer orders.
- Training customers on product use after the installation.
- Working trade shows.
- Supporting current customers with information and help solving problems.


Qualifications required in a Field Sales Representative:
1. Interest in manufacturing technology.
2. Appropriate personality for consultative selling.
3. Ability to learn and apply new concepts.
4. Experience in metalworking machine shops (may be offset by education).
5. Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering (may be offset by experience).
6. At least five years of work experience.

Sales Trainee / Apprentice
This is for individuals who are interested in pointing their careers towards Business-to-Business Sales but who lack experience. The Sales Trainee begins work in our Sales Apprenticeship Program as a Field Service Technician. The Trainee is trained in basic product service and takes on sales training and selling duties as he progresses through the program. After two to three years in this program the trainee will be considered for promotion to Sales Representative in opportunities throughout our nationwide sales organization. The apprentice should be willing to relocate.

The qualifications are similar to those listed above, but we supply the job experience. One successful profile for this position is to be a recent graduate of a four-year degree program with little or no job experience.
