Industrial Sales Representative

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the selling of industrial products and services in a defined territory. This position is more focused on the day to day selling with emphasis on the number of calls and closings.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sell Mettler Toledo Industrial weighing equipment and systems products in the assigned area.

Build a marketing and business strategy for product sales in the assigned area. Support all product selling activity in the assigned area to include calling on existing and new accounts, end users, OEM's, integrators, and engineering firms. Provide weekly reporting to sales management on quoting and selling activities.

 

Duties:

· Close business consistently at or above target levels.

· Follow established methods of effective selling

· Penetrate new accounts and maintain key accounts to increase market share.

· Market our company and products with a pre-defined plan

· Respond to Sales Leads in timely manner

· Competency in Product Demonstrations

· Trade show participation

· Attend and participate in Sales Meetings as a solid team player.

· Demonstrate improved efficiency and close rate with all structured training

· Personally elevate job knowledge and self education

 

Responsibilities:

 

Organization and Planning

· Determine calendar planning on a monthly basis that accommodates the needs of the Company and taking into consideration training, trade shows, and all deadlines

· Arrange and efficiently manage all resources necessary, on behalf of the Company to complete the selling process

· Plan meetings with all territory accounts to cover business issues, account goals, support programs, and promotional product sales

· Schedule and manage mutually-agreed-upon support for each account

 

Selling

· Present the product line to customers in the territory with proficiency.

· Prospect

· Write orders within the accounts

· Meet or exceed sales goals for the Territory

· Engage in sales pushes/spiffs as required

· Gain competitive knowledge to create an advantage within the assigned geography.

· Develop and maintain a prospective customer list and open new accounts as approved by the Regional Manager to meet territory needs and Company marketing objectives

 

Service

· Coordinate with Service to develop and execute a plan for the territory;

· Work on promoting services programs and promotions in the territory

 

Communication

· Write monthly reports, sales, competitive information and product information to the Company

· Communicate regularly by phone and email with manager to provide information on specific issues, sales and product information, as well as general economic and business issues

· Utilize and demonstrate a high level of proficiency with the Corporate database and leads system.

· Establish a line of communication with all service personnel in the territory
